Kumar Mangalam is an Indian industrialist and also the Chairman of the Aditya Birla Group, a multi-industrial company that has outlets in nearly 42 countries worldwide. In India, this is the 3rd largest business group.
Mangalam is also the Chancellor of the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, which was co-founded by his family.
Kumar Mangalam Birla is a fourth generation member of the from the state of Rajasthan. He spent his childhood in Kolkata and Mumbai. He has B.Com degree from University of Bombay, Chartered Accountancy from ICAI & an MBA from London Business School, London, where he is also an Honorary Fellow.
Aditya Birla Group was already brought overseas by his father. However, that time there were no ways of globalization yet. His father only managed to introduce the group and collaborate with major markets in the US and Europe.
What Kumar Mangalam did was follow the current trend of the business world and expand it to more than just two continents. Kumar had this notion of always finding the simplest solution to whatever difficult problems the business faced. And because of this, it made him a very dedicated entrepreneur over the years.

Mr. Birla and his wife, Mrs. Neerja Birla, have three children, Ananya, Aryaman Vikram and Advaitesha. He is from Maheshwari community and complete vegetarian.
